 | In Cogito Volume III PRESENTED BY THE RABBLE IN ASSOCIATION WITH CARRIAGEWORKS MAY 07 - 17 AT 8PM CARRIAGEWORKS : WWW.CARRIAGEWORKS.COM.AU 245 WILSON STREET EVELEIGH SYDNEY After the success of Corvus, THE RABBLE return to CarriageWorks with SALOME – In Cogito Volume III. THE RABBLE drastically re-imagine the story of Salome and her part in the beheading of John the Baptist. Plague, drought and perversity have swept a small Australian town, leaving its citizen’s intoxicated and feverish. Salome, the belle of the town, has not escaped the infection. A groomless, bed wetting, albino bride, Salome rampantly pursues John – a septic stranger who is prone to accidentally drowning his disciples. In a town with no water and tormented by her masochist father and drag-queen mother, Salome is very, very thirsty. Influenced by Wilde, Caravaggio and Castellucci THE RABBLE have created a grotesque and surreal visual theatre. Salome drips with taboo, sex and the sublime.
